CHARACTER INFO
• Character Name: Tim Drake
• Character Age: 17
• Character Canon: DC Comics
• Canon Point: Red Robin, issue 25
• Character History: DC Wikia entry here!
• Character Personality:
— Dutiful: I was actually going to put "loyal" in here, but Tim has one driving force and that's his dedication to The Mission above all else. This is a boy who had the audacity to confront the Batman and call him out on having lost his way, which was Tim's ideal that he had embraced as a child following his heroes. He became Robin to be the force that restores humanity in Batman. The force that reminds the concept of Batman to do the right thing. That's all Tim believes he'd been doing: guiding away the thoughts of darkness, keeping the Mission always within reach of a well-intentioned human. He isn't dependent on who stays by his side in the meanwhile, more than capable of performing well enough on his own. When left on his own for reasons beyond his control, all Tim has to turn to is his conviction that his duty is pretty much sacred. Tim muddles the lines of Good and Bad in his globetrotting suicide mission, but never without explicit confidence that all his hard work will be worthwhile in the end.
— Resilient: He's persistent. Tenacious. Tim evolves with necessity. Although he's done a good job at sticking to his promise of not becoming entirely like Batman it's impossible to say his life as Tim Drake hasn't suffered the consequences of being (Red) Robin. He's lost so many friends. He's lost so much family. But Tim has not lost himself entirely to his grief, no matter what the people around him might at times believe. He's become much more dangerous than the out-dated-slang-toting, technophile geek of a fanboy he once was; his calculations now run cold when scheming with human pawns. More than once he has questioned what the purpose of this self-inflicted crusade even is, finding himself lost, but Tim keeps going with a promise to never let this work go to waste. If he quits, then the sacrifices will have been for nothing.
— Resourceful: Anyone familiar with Tim is quick to point out his intelligence and cutting-edge skills as a detective; Batman himself has pointed out that it's highly likely Tim will surpass his abilities in the near future. But Tim Drake's success in the field stems off of more than just book-smarts and brash intuition. He's learned how to manipulate his setting, situation, or opponent in a stand-off to help his plots go off without a hitch. When errors do occur, he finds the better angle to play off of to advance his strategy. He's adept at Making Friends and Influencing People and he isn't going to let the Batman's biggest faults bite him in the ass too; he'll call in favors, stubbornly cement himself to a group he sees beneficial, or even use the suffering of others to advance a goal in a cold but effective manner. Be it people, place, or thing, Tim will use it to the best of his abilities.
— Obsessive: Friends have been let go through the years and he's become much more distant and closed-off even with his best friends and close family. Tim takes this as a sign that he has no social life worth rebuilding and as an excuse to entertain his growing obsession with dedicating his entire being to fighting crime. Red Robin's mission and Tim Drake's life have become one, and Tim takes any opportunity he has to keep his nose to the grindstone. He has always been self-aware of the deteriorating state of his work-life balance, but he has been unable to enact any changes that keep him from the field for very long, even when others voice their concerns. This is a far cry from the kid who volunteered himself to take up the role of Robin only temporarily; Tim's now only capable of envisioning a future where he stays in the fight or dies trying.
— Unreliable Narrator: Surprising literally no one, this kid's mental health has suffered. He's quick to take offense to barbed jokes about his skills, he's aware of the massive hypocrisy that is his loud judgement of others playing the Hero role. Tim has become single minded in a not so good way, and attempts to redirect him, to get him to see the forest instead of just the trees, is seen as an attack. Arrogant due to circumstance, he's emboldened to act out of line with the clear belief that he will come out of the chess match victorious; concerned voices about his trade-off of gentleness for callousness are brushed off. After all, he always knows what he's doing. He always has a plan. He always wins. (Spoilers, he does not.)
— Secretive: He remarked once he'd rather be in the middle of a gunfight than talk about his emotions. Worse still, he actually meant it. The more important a matter, the more he feels the need to step back and look at a problem logically and not be consumed by his feelings. This... isn't always easy or possible for him, and Tim usually opts for keeping any nervous breakdowns private and behind closed doors. Shutting down, tuning out, flat-out being a jerk to get away from the problem causing him agitation all seem to be common tactics of keeping genuine criticisms away. He (usually) isn't purposefully insensitive or unfeeling, but wearing so many masks both figuratively and literally have made lying a natural state of being for him. It's difficult to get him to be honest or vulnerable with others; the nature of the relationship hardly matters.
• Character Skills:
• HE DOES INDEED HAVE Firearms Knowledge
• Hand to hand combat, translation: action movie martial arts
• Tech-savvy Hacker
• Detective/ Investigative Skills
• Multilingual
• Athletic
• Character Inventory:
— ITEM ONE: Bo Staff
— ITEM TWO: Popcorn Machine
— ITEM THREE: Grapple Gun
• Important Notes: He's coming in (if accepted!) with a broken arm because I think it's funny, however in canon he's missing a whole-ass spleen. I'd love it if the Aurora could freeze the consequences of that tidbit so Timberly doesn't DIE the first time he catches the sniffles :")

GAME PERMISSIONS
CONTACT:
ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: US, Central time. I'm disabled and try to prioritize game tags in the evening, after 7 or so. I will try to get through the inbox once a day but it's honestly not always possible.
BRACKETS/PROSE: I'll match you, but I default to prose due to phone tagging.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: No real or realistic gore images. Descriptions of heavy violence, gore, torture, are just fine by me but if there's ever an explicit pic I would ask not to have that shown/linked.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Bring it. Though, Tim will attempt to talk down any confrontation if that ever seems like an option. He's well trained in combat and various practical styles of martial arts, and it should show in his efforts.
RELATIONSHIPS: He's messy.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: He has friends who do the whole energy/aura/mind read thing, plus he's been trained by... Batman. So there will be (minimal) awareness or shields, or whatever. The boy's only human, though.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Bats don't love magic because they have no magic.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: The. boy. has. no. spleen. He has a fair number of scars from vigilante antics, though it seems they're not enough to immediately draw attention. Anyone who would be attentive would pick up on old slashes, stabbings, burns, bullet wounds.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: DC Comics decided to go all out and among Tim's story we have: attempted rape, sexual harassment of a minor, literal child soldiers, comic book violence, fires, natural disasters (earthquake), drugs, school shootings, gang violence, police corruption/police violence, lots of death, goddamn there is a lot of death, gaslighting, teen pregnancy, child neglect, it GOES ON AND ON MY FRIEND... oh and mention his dead dad and watch him become 200% emotionally compromised.
THREADHOPPING: I actually love this so hit me up or I'll hit you up so long as we have everyone in agreement
FOURTHWALLING: Not for me
NOT INTERESTED IN: I can't think of anything I'm not at least willing to entertain once.
AURAL: I'd assume his extensive training would mean eliminating any obvious accent from his speech. He's is a New Englander, though, and born to old money high class. His training in public speaking would make sure he pronounces and enunciates well, unless he's being a Real Boy for once.
OLFACTORY: Clean, but nothing distinguishable. He's here to blend into the shadows, not have Armani give away a secret ID when shit hits the fan.
DEMEANOUR: To quote: Tim Drake is the saddest person I've ever met. It's a... vibe. Tim's overall disposition is miles better than during his rock-bottom stint(s), but there's a jaded callousness and disillusionment to him if you get past his acting. Tim Drake is a liar, a good one, and he's a hero, a damn good one, but now the paranoia is justified and he knows what it's like to be the last one standing.
